Default Best bang for the buck swap? K24 K24 B18 B20 ?

Everyone knows the D series is not for performance unless you tarbo'd it, but I prefer N/A. I was originally thinking about a K24A2 or K24 w/ a K20 head, but performance K series costs too much. I was thinking either a K24A1 or A4 or B series (don't know **** bout the B). I'm looking for best price to performance swap; it doesn't have to be fast/unique. I was thinking about a B18C from a GSR, but again, I don't know much about the B series. I'm tired of my torque-less D16, any weight on this?

Never heard of the H2B before, pretty interesting. Now my question is, around how much would a H2B swap cost considering I'm keeping A/C and P/S? I know there are threads about the build, but some people spend more than needed. I'm mainly looking at OEM components and aftermarket if OEM is not possible.

Also quick question, is a H22A in an EK fuel efficient if driven conservatively? I'm a student, and gas isn't that cheap in socal lol

If you don't get a super short geared itr/b16 Trans like ive got you should get 30 ish. I get 26-30 in mixed driving. And 6th gen civics can retain a/c with an h2b. I'm the only person I know with AC and h2b. You need to get an innovative h22 AC bracket and you use the d-series compressor. You'll have to modify the line coming out of the compressor just a bit and run slim fans. My AC compressors fan is actually mounted on the bumper side of the frame so its hidden.

Tricky to do, but AC can be kept with 6th Gens.

Thanks for the info. Another question about swaps, I have a 2000 EJ8 and IIRC, you need an engine that's the same year or newer in order for it to pass BAR (at least in CA). Is that true, and is it hard to pass smog with something like a H22? I don't want to do a swap then find out it's not possible to get it pass inspection. CA has the strictest emission laws ls;adjkaskfadskl;

You should call or visit a local spot and ask one of those guys. But to answer your first question; yes, you will fail.

same year or newer

and iirc, the engine has to retain all it's original smog equipment, and so does the chassis.

egr valve, etc..
