Icon3 d16y8 thrust washer install question

Do I have to remove the motor and take the crank out or would the oil pump bridge hold it in place since there's no space on it for it to rotate into
I'm asking because I can definitely fit a new one in the grove where it goes into in the right direction from under the car with the oil pan off if I take the oil pump bridge assembly off
as well
Hope this makes sense and isn't confusing all help is appropriated thanks

You should be able to oull the oil pan and may be able to get to it but its going to be some work. The oil pump will deff have to be unbolted to make room and the crank girdle may need to as well. The d16y8 has everything pretty tight in there. Also whats the reasoning for swapping the washer? Motor make a noise or something?
