Default Code 3 (map sensor) still won't go away

As some of you might recall, i recently encountered a problem with a check engine code 3. The car would start, but would backfire and simply wasn't working right. The tech found a corroded wire running from the ecu pinouts all the way to the map sensor. This wire was completely replaced and the car now starts and operates normally. There is one problem though. The check engine light stays on and stores a code 3. We have reset the ecu plenty of times and still have the problem. Today, the tech decided to remove several sensors to see if the ecu would recognize they were missing. Well, it did not. The only code it throws is a code 3. We have tried 4 good, perfectly known working ecu's and get the same results. The entire harness has been checked and haven't found any other problems. Does anyone have any idea what on earth could be wrong?

Thanks,
Mark

well, since you said the wire was all corroded, all that resistance could have built up a ton of heat and fried some other wires.......but you did say it is throwing a map sensor code have you made sure your map didnt get fried?
