HIDS, and the integra headlight system light output
so i got 9006 600k HIDS for my teg, the pro lumen brand.
they are nice as hell i got them mounted and wired up to the low beams in the headlights. they shine nice, illuminate everything perfectly but theres one problem im having.
before i put them in and after i put them in im still getting the SQUARE out put of light from the headlights.
i thought it was just the bulbs and would go away when i install the kit but the light out put is still in a square from the headlight lense.
how do i get the FULL lighting to work with the entire lense and not just a square in the middle of the lense ?
also how do people get hids in both hi and low, two sets of hids or ??

you see your major problem is the fact that you half assed the job. youre trying to get good hid output out of a non-hid ballast. you need to retrofit a hid ballast into your non-hid headlamps. most people use either the tsx or s2000 ballast. the tsx is about the best on the market right now. a mod should move this thread over to the lighting section.
okay, appreciate the input
im new to thew whole 'lighting' scene, never had hids before so im trying to aquire the best look, i dont know how to retrofit, or really understand what it is.
however I did do research and figured out 6000k is the best look and output of useable light so i picked some up.
thought telling me "you half assed it" doesnt help much or do much for the current situation.
maybe you can shine some light on how to go about retrofitting and making the "half ***" job into a "good *** job".
i dont really wanna be hacking up my headlights but i would be interested to know so i could buy parts or get w/e i need to do this.
also do people use hids in both? since i have 6000k in low beams, what would i put in the highs - another set of 6000k or higher or lower?
although im trying to get the yellow look on the high beams so they can match my fog lights(when i get them that is), thats another thing, which kind of fog lights do people use to obtain the yellow circle look in the front, i wouldn't mind getting info on that as well and how to instal them, etc how would i go about that?

Check out theretrofitsource.com, I bought some retrofits off em and will never look back on stock projectors, I used the 5000k and its even better then 6000k.
look up integra tsx retrofit into google. unfortunatley if you want good light output and dont want your light up in the trees and in oncoming drivers faces youre going to have to cut up your housings a little. there are step by step walk throughs on the web. for the foglights you use oem type r foglights if youre 98+ model year. just google it. has been done thousands of times. if youre ok with tools retrofit it yourself you will save a **** ton of money. probably enough to go on a weekend vacation. in comparison to buying them already done.

any cheap place to get the fog lights?
or do i goto honda or acura. (any1 got a part number?) or a guide to install them ?
i would prefer to just buy the retrofitted headlights and just put them in and use my hid kit.
i cant seem to find that site selling just the entire housing though?

im running the clear lens from the retrofit source. for the price you cant beat it and it took me about a hour to change them. deff a decent option if you dont wanna cut up your headlights
Ask Matt at Matt@theretrofitsource.com to hook you up with someone who will put a set together for you, you can either ship your headlights or buy some an ship em to whoever does your retrofit.
i've done the same to mine with the tdw-r lenses. basicially you just bake open the headlights, unscrew the shroud that holds the old lens and screw in the new ones. Very simple mod and it does affect the output a bit, plus its not as expensive or hard as a complete retrofit. With the clear lenses, you will notice a sharper cutoff (i have a purple line) and just a tad bit wider beam. There is also a little color flicker when you turn at certain angles with it too.
im gonna try and make them myself.
but what year tsx lights do i need? ima see what kijiji has in my area.
what exactly should i look for?

OP, do a google search for hid retrofit integra and you will find several how to's/guides and lots of threads discussing it. What you have is a plug and play kit which attempts to run hid (sub par at that) lighting in a projector system that was not designed around hid output. This is what he means by half assing it. You did not do any research on your upgrade and just bought what you thought would do the job of making your cars light output like those of cars with factory hid's. Stop what youre doing right now.. stop all the questions.. and go do the google research i advised.
