Default HID?

Im sure this had been mowed over before, and I apologies in advance...
Do normal stock USDM integra headlights work with hids? Since hids
pretty much need a len to have good cut-off.... Would these halogen
lenses work with hids and also have a cut-off.... And if not, I would seem
rather easy to retrofit some new lens and hids into these said headlights..

Thanks in advance for any info...

Yes, you will have a cutoff, since the Integra has projectors with a cutoff stock.

However, the advantage of the additional light output from HIDs are in increased width, and more even light distribution, which you won't get with a "HID kit" in the stock projectors.

So, yes, it works, but no, there are no advantages, and the increased light directly in front of the car actually reduces total night visibility.

You can have your headlights retrofitted. I've been wanting to do this for a while now since I learned all about it. Read through this thread to get a better understanding.

Even with the stock projectors there is a noticeable increase in width I've noticed... It is the width that was there already, but was too dim to be noticeable with the stock bulbs. night time visibility increased for me, but I haven't tested this in the fog yet, I guess we'll see how that goes.

try looking into ddmtuning for your HID's its just plug and play. The install is so easy took me 20 mins max and the lighting has a noticeable difference.

I have a plug and play kit from retro-solutions. love it and have never had complaints from others. only problem i've ever had was driving in a blizzard, I ended up driving with only my parking lights on because light output was a little high. probly could have been solved by slowing down a little tho.

Probably would have been good to have when I hit a groundhog or something and destroyed my frontlip and radiator on the Interstate, and had to get towed home because all my coolant leaked out

This is what made me to start considering an HID kit.

that is the heat up process that all HIDs go through. its not the camera they do get brighter after they warm up like that.

So do the stock projectors.

Look at these pics and think about it before throwing HID in stock projectors. Note the huge hotspots on the ground directly in front of the Integra, and how little light is actually on the fence. HID in stock Integra projectors puts most of the light directly in front of the car, where it's totally useless. Not to mention it has a super narrow beam pattern.

4300K HID in stock Integra projectors:

Stock S2000 projectors:

Both together, the S2000 completely drowns out the Integra's headlights on the fence:

I have to say that this process is a little intimidating. I really want to go the retrofit way but I still have yet to find a really clear procedure that is step by step down to the screw.

If someone has this please post it up... Patrick..your pics are inspiring!!!

I will say that I just bought some new headlight units fitted with angel eyes and projectors that are actually for the hids. Yes I found them on ebay(which I did have some bad luck before with halo units their) but these ones have been really good. No hot spots, the halos work and were actually wired together so instead of having to wire 4 wires to my parking lights I only had to do 2. They were sealed excellently and haven't fogged and its rained 3 times since installing them..

There is the link if your interest. For the money I am very happy with the result. I will get pictures asap as I don't have any right now so you can see the end result.

Edit: Pics the halos look pink in the first one for some reason.

I will try to get pics showing how it lights up the road but my camera is pretty shitty and can barely see anything at night so I don't know how soon those pics will be up.
