Safe to Drive Without Intercooler Connected?
So I just got my car together and need to get it aligned then go to a fabricator to get my intercooler piping fitted. The trip is around 40 miles total. Is it okay for me to drive with my intercooler disconnected in the meantime?
I'm pretty sure it is okay but I just read some stuff online about overspooling turbos

you won't overspin it.. all you'll do is go into vacuum as though you're NA. Overspinning occurs from over surging the turbo, or sudden shifts in pressure , like on a dyno.. you're good.
you wont do any damage. However, the alignment shop will need to test drive the car afterwards so make sure they know to not do anything crazy
Thanks guys, I appreciate the advice
I was pretty sure that overspinning happens when the charge pipe blows off and there is a massive pressure differential but wanted to make sure. Thanks again!

So what that said that means that if he is running up to 0inhg or wot it will spin up the turbo. Seen it happen before.

For his particular case, he won't overspin it.
