Car died driving, Won't Start Now!
I was driving down the street at like 35 mph and my car died. It has not started since then. It cranks but does not start. I have replaced the main fuel relay and distributor. I check the timing belt and its good. I have tried cranking the engine and I noticed the rotor won't spin. Why if the timing belt is good? Help!?
2) The distributor is keyed to the camshaft with an offset slot and tab, so I'm not sure what a "sheer" (shear) pin is. The slot and tab normally do not break. Either your timing belt is broken, or a camshaft is broken. However, was there red dust inside the distributor?
3) By cranking the engine with the distributor cap off, you will wreck your coil (if you haven't done so already), so don't do that anymore. If you want to see if the cams are turning, remove the oil-filler cap and look in there while cranking.

Should have said sheer tabs, or maybe drive tabs...

and yes they do shear off, sometimes.
I agree, remove oil cap and see if cam turns, if so, it is a good bet distributor drive tabs have sheared off, or the shaft itself has broken.
Or you can just pull the distributor and see if the tabd are still there and if turning the tabs turns the rotor. 94

If rotor is not turning, as TheRealTegger puts it, "something really bad is broken".
the rotor is "turned" mechanically, crank shaft drives the timing belt, timing belt turns the cam(s), cam drives the distributor shaft, rotor sits on distributor shaft, something has got to be broken.
Did you check to see if cam is turning, as suggested?94

Check and Make sure belt is turning the cams as fcm said if the belt is turning the cam gears and the came shft is turning then the cam snapped off just befor the Dissy and you will need a new cam.
my bet is that you have a FRAM oil filter on the car. and Like fram filter tend to do it collapsed inside and stoped flowwing oil to the motor and siezed the cams to the head and ripped the teeth of the belt at the crank like this guys did.
