Default Pulling the engine without the trans

I looked on the FAQ thread about pulling the engine and it said that you have to pull the transmission out with the engine. I was wondering if I can pull the engine and leave the transmission in it? Also where is a good place to chain the engine the lift it out?

Make it easy on yourself and pull them both.

Waaaay easier this way.

I like to wrap a chain around the trans and around the mount on the timing belt side. Many ways you could do it though.

If it's an automatic it can be done. If it's a manual then no you need to pull both. It's definitely easier to pull both together as a unit though.

X6 pull the Trans with it. As for where to mount the chain, I use the 17 for the Trans to block bolt and I use the 14mm hole in between intake mani and timing belt right below the vc
