who thinks a 1st gen b16 can handle direct port?
im curious to know if anyone out there has gone direct port on a 1st gen b16.i was thinkin a 100 shot but if any one has jetted a 80 and not blown the motor i would like to know the results.
A stock b16 engine will be able to handle a 50 shot from direct port setup or you could just use a single fogger nozzle 1" away from your throttle body with the same result.
I have used both.
Another way is by using NOS nozzles which mount under the fuel injector which would be the best type of direct port system to use on a Honda.
If you want to have a 80 or 100 shot you need forged pistons, con rods, and crank shaft and will have to retard your ignition.
Good luck and I hope you enjoy it!!!!

I dont think you'll have a problem with good gas. we used to run race gas and a 95 dry shot on an otherwise stock b18a with no problems.

Or you could be smarter and rely on something that is safer and you can control. Possibly called FORCED INDUCTION. I hate seeing people resort to NOS. It is a cheap way out of doing it the right way. NOS is like a bomb, for all you know you could have an injector crack and shoot a shot that will blow your engine. My advice save your $$$$$ and go with a nice Forced Induction system. Greddy for that engine is only 1,995 from Greddy. Drag 3 and F Max both around 2500-2700

Nitrous is a reliable means of extra horsepower.
yeah im currently squeezing a 100 shot on my stock Ls. i was recently offered a usdm b16 for a great price thats why im curious.. as for that turbo issue.. i dont know what your talkin about .. Nitrous is reliable. besides that i dont want to limit myself on turbo .. i believe you go to big and you dont run good on the street .. go to small and you dont run good enough at the track. besides that, its a price i just cant afford. LOW BUDGET RACING FOR LIFE !

75 shot on ym b16a...gone through like 4 bottles...no problems what so ever! jsut have to know how to use it...when to let off when to spray what rpm etc. if its dont right, its fine. my zex kit has made my car so much faster...best $ ever spent. and i used to always say nitrous, not NOS, because we arent in the movies, was for pussies, but then i got it. for the $$, no better way to shave time, considering you can grip when you flip the switch.

yeah thats all good ~ but im really not intrested in single fogger. ONLY direct port input please
for those that dont know it isnt safe to spray less than 80 on d.p., he said he only wanted direct port setups..
in my opinion, do it.. if the ls holds it the b16 will...
I talk to a lot of domestic guys reguarding nitrous since they all spray and seem to know more about it than most import guys, and they all say it works great with high compression

its all in tuning . check it all out to make sure the motor is kosher and spray away if so . i was spraying 100 shot dp on my R .
i dont see why u cant. id just get some fuel mods..ie a pump. i got a manifold already drilled for directport that im not using...plus a first gen si head w/ stronger gsr internals. your car will fly w/ a 100 shot. i dont see any probs
I think it can handle 100 shot. I know of this one person who runs 100 shot on his GSR. he is using the NOS plate system though.
I used to run nitrous and i thought it was great. Just got expensive to refill the bottle all the time

How long does the 10 lbs bottle last on 100 shot? 12.65 is nice for stock b16a with nitrous. Do you use the controller?
