i personally would get some sort of management to be safe. if you were 5-8psi i would say its pushing it but 15 is like kissing your investment good bye. but thats just IMO
u can do the apexi controller hack if you dont have the money but i agree with Dc4LsTeG. not only protect your investment but your car too. go safe not sorry. fast and reliable isnt cheap. .....do it proper
Why the hell would you want to run any boost on a stock ecu? Are you just wanting to see how many days it takes to blow that **** up?
Edit: hours or even minutes I should say.

haha yea that could be a problem....the d16y8 is OBD2 ecu therefore yes you will need a OBD1 ecu if you plan on using any type of managment whether it be hondata, ectune, neptune ect.
You will also need a coversion harness to adapt youre OBD2(a or b pending on the year) harness to OBD1. Unless you got AEM which is plug and play. That option would plug right into youre wallet as well tho. A simple chipped OBD1 ecu is youre best bet it does not have to be p28 tho. there are other ecu that will work however, that is the most commonly used.
YOu need to tune the car, so get the Stock ecu or base maps out of youre head right now. Get the car running keep charge pipes disconnected and then tow to youre tuner. if you have to drive there i would use the Stock ecu for the drive there with youre oem injectors (charge disconnected). The tuner can install bigger injectors and get youre management system going.

I saw stock injectors. BIG no no. Get some DSM 450cc injectors at the least. Get a S300, Neptune or AEM EMS for tuning. And dont try tuning it at all yourself, take it to a tuner. Either town it in after the turbo and all supporting components are installed or drive it in with a inter cooler pipe unhooked, the stock injector and ECU that way you can drive it but not get into boost and blow the motor.
