Default HELP GUYS CAR'S RPMS JUMP FROM 1.5-2K UP AND DOWN

ok guys am getting sick of this car """please help"""

1996 civic ex with a d16z6 with a p28 ecu

so far i went to autozone had it scanned with the orginal ecu and its showing a code for the iacv oh my wire harness was rewired for a 2 wire iacv as well

i went to the junk yard gat 3 of them not one made a differnce the car when i first did the swap was fine for a few days then one day i turned it on and it shoot to 3k rpm then dropped to 1.5 and jumps to 2k then up and down

i am going to clean one of the iacv with brake cleaner I read online it may help

PLEASE GIVE ME YOU POSTIVE INPUT

I'm having a similar problem. I just picked up my civic this past week. I have a 95 DX. So if you fix your problem before I fix mine, let me know what you did please. It only happens on mine after the car is warmed up.
How much were the iacv at the junkyard?

Bleed the cooling system of air for starters.

I did that both ways with a funnal and bleeder screw nothing

iacv cost idk i pocket them they didn't work thank god i didnt pay for them

take off IACV and spray the crap out of it with carb/brake cleaner. then blow it out with compressed air and let it dry for a couple of hours.

not sure if its gunna work cuz u went thru 3 already..but mine was doing the same and that fixed it for me.

Check for vacuum leaks.

At first I was wondering how you would pocket them, I didn't realize how small the IAC is. lol
I cleaned mine up with some brake cleaner. And It was good yesterday, but this morning it's back to the same old thing. I'm gonna let it be for a little while and just find a good used one.

did you also clean the FITV? Fast Idle thermal Valve?

i dont have a fast idle thermal valve because i have a obd0 ls trottle body that just has a pass tru

Are you sure they wired it at the ECU correctly?

Did you screw the plastic thing all the way in? Thats what youre supposed to do
