Rebuilt b16 turbo, blowing lots of white smoke!
Hey guys!
I just fired up my rebuilt b16 turbo. Problem is that i've got lots of white smoke on idle and when i hit the gas it turns to a big cloud of pure white smoke. After driving the car for like 10mins i turned it of and saw that there was oil coming out from the turbo's turbine. I've had no overheating problems or what ever. The car runs great when you drive it (but it looks like your bringing bad weather whit you).
- So what i've done is that i retorqued the head (made no DIFFERENCE).
- Tryed to put some bar's leak in the system to see if it would help (made no DIFFERENCE).
So is it bad rings or headgasket?
Appreciate all answers and proposals!
br, Jesper!

Either the oil pressure at the turbo is to high or your return line is no good. What are the sizes of your oil lines ? Post some pictures of your return line to.
Took some pictures on the feed, drain and the oil train today. When i removed the drain tube from the oil train it started to flow oil out from the train, can this be a problem?

Sorry my bad, i have AN10. My oil resistor i'm using atm that followed on with the oil feed kit is 3mm. Think i read somewhere that it's suppose to be 0.063"?
Here's a pic:

3mm is almost twice as big as what you normally want with a journal bearing turbo. Your right .063 is about right. It would be good to know what you oil pressure is also. If it was smoking as bad as you say it was it might need a rebuild on the turbo.
I really dont hope i need to rebuild the turbo since it's new :/ Well i'll find out later today if my problem i solved!
Did a comp test on the engine today, showed 115,120,130,90. Bad gasket i guess? Do you think i need to copper spray my OEM headgasket?

Okey, today i picked the head of. The cylinders looked great BUT the exhaust channels was full of unburned oil and the downpipe was also full of unburned oil. I also checked the IC pipes, there was not a drop of oil anywhere! My money is on that the turbo is done? What do you think?
Here's a pic on the pistons after i pulled the head of. As you can see there's no burned oil or what so ever!

Maybe I am way off here but I don't think so..white smoke is always coolant I thought? oil is bluish not white..
EDIT: just read your post about compression...Blown headgasket I think. Do a leakdown test.

Can i have bad valve seals? Couse i get alot of preesure under the valve cover? And that would also explain the oil in the exhaust ports of the head right?
