Default Why so few Da's?

Why are there so few DA drag cars? Is there a disadvantage to the DA? I was planning on a drag car begining of next year and have always loved them

I've never owned one but from what I hear the engin bay i a bit cramped compared to a dc or eg chassis car. Also there may be limited availability on suspension parts. Depending on what class you intend to race in all these problems may not come into play. If you are planning a SFWD build where you would need high 8's low 9's to be competitive the DA chasis would be at a disadvantage. But if you are going for an index class or bracket class I don't think it would really matter. It's always nice to see something diffrent though.

the suspension is the least of your worries, it can be upgraded. the engine bay is small compared to a eg/dc/ek. there is no room behind the shock towers for anything. i see no reason why a properly setup DA couldnt run with the best of them.

The bay is definitely more cramped than the other chassis's besides an ef of course but where there's a will there's a way.

Here's my project

i used to daily drive a 12 sec DA with 96 spec itr with skunk stage 2 cams (now its got a stock b18c turbo). like the other person said a DA that is setup up properly can run with the best of em.

btw my n/a setup is currently being swaped to another DA with a/c and ps gsr tranny that i will be selling when its finished if anybody is interested.

Yea, same with the EF. Just cramped. And I think the front suspension is a slightly poorer design (at least with the EF- having no lower A-arm).

It really just means youll need more custom work than with any other chassis. I.E. Most manifolds are designed fro the EG/DC/EK.

I don't see any major disadvantages chassis wise(I'm just alittle biased lol),they've just been the bastard honda child since day 1..its just easier to build an eg,dc,ek with practically every single parts application based solely off those chassiss. I would track my current shell but I'm too attached to it to strip it down for track duty.ill find another shell to get serious with

Yes he is right.^..a da is going to require a lot of custom work to make the good parts fit.da's are like the beginner Honda for everyone. They are cheap and they come with a dohc.once you get enough money you upgrade to a hatch or a dc.I seen happen over and over for years.it takes a true enthusias to breath life threw These oldschool teggys!!!
