Default 2000 Civic Si Gauge cluster and Climate control light dont work!

i bought my Si and it came with white face gauges. ive been "de-ricing" my vehicle since i got it and have been wanting to take them out. the white gauges light up and i can see the previous owner hooked it up to the actually light control switch on the turn signel. but my acutal cluster doesnt light up. i can telll because my mileage doesnt light up. also my climate control doesnt light up. the A/C, recericulation, and rear defrost buttons light up when pressed. ive checked all my fuses and their all good. please help me

Replace it with the fuse that should go there.

Yes. You could melt wires that aren't rated to handle that kind of power and possibly start an In cabin fire.

De-ricing a car is fun! especially when you come across all the potential hazards that the previous owner left you with. I myself need to get rid of the white gauges but my problem is finding stock gauges without buying the entire cluster. But best of luck to you on your restore!

Install a 7.5A fuse in the #30 slot.

The white gauges are face overlays. Remove them.

Nice point out sir! I myself would have never guessed that, i don't mess with gauge clusters as you can tell because i heard a lot can go wrong very fast, but i can't stand the white gauges so they have to go.

Pry the switch out of the dash. Is the switch unplugged and the connector shorted with a jumper wire?

If you unplug the switch, do the lights turn off?

Replace the dimmer switch if you want the dimmer function.
