Default Cluster/Climate control=No Light

My friend was installing an aftermarket radio in my car.For some reason it didnt start so he wired it another way and it turned on.When he did we turned the key over and from my driver side air vent, white smoke starting to creep from it.After that we disconnected the radio and it stopped.About a day later i notice that neither my cluster or climate control is lit up.My turning signals and everything else works,it just doesnt light up.What can this be?i checked fuses and there all fine, every single one.Any suggestions?

how sure are you that no fuses blew? i had this problem too, when i put in my radio, one fo the wires touched the chassis and shorted out, causing my climate control, cluster and tailights not to light up..and a fuse for them all blew
