Default Roller Rockers & Roller Cams question?

A quick question... Is there a company or web site that sells non V-TEC Roller Rockers or Roller Cams? I know Ferrea sells them for the V-TEC 1.6 & 1.8 motors, but I would like that type of set up for the non V-TEC 1.8 DOHC.
Any type of information would be great.

No one has ever or probably will ever make a rocker upgrade for the non vtec head although it would be very beneficial IMO

Awesome thanks for the reply. I guess I'll be buying a V-Tec head... would of liked to work with what I had, but no big issue though. Thanks again.

What are you trying to do? Just be ause you can't get roller rockers doesn't mean you can't use the head. Just valve springs and retainers and the right cams will make power and give you ability to rev to T least 8k.

The ls heads flow is horrible. Your much better off getting a vtec head. It would take some expensive port work to get a ls head to flow like a stock port vtec head.

Here come the one sided vtec is the owner of all. Lol

Yes vtec will make more power but isn't the end all be all cylinder head and depending what the op is trying to do with the car is the route he/she should do. I'm giving and unbiased opinion as I've been down both roads

I just wanted less drag on the internals and less adjusting of them since it was going to be street driven. I'm not trying to have a complete beast on the road either just something nice.

I didn't say it was end all be all but ls head sucks. Sure you can use it. I just think its a waste to build one. Just my opinion.

I wanted to make sure I don't float a valve if I did build for high rpm. Plus I am not sure what type of spring to use? the titanium springs eventually wear themselves pretty quick if driven on a basis as a daily car. I'm looking for a 50/50 car reliable and fun around 350- 500 hp.

Well, the P75 LS head is horrible, the P8R on the other hand flows close to a B16 head..

Sounds good I've heard nothing, but good from the Type R cams. Is there a place you would recommend buying the Type R head from?

No place just sells the head.. places sell the whole engine. u can use any vtec head and then use the TR cams (If you can find either)

If your looking for 300-500hp, then you should be looking for a turbo set up. The LS-Vtec can be done to this level, but it will have to go under the knife.

Good stuff. yeah I have the small block set up for a turbo build already should take a decent beating I'm just working on the head right now. I also kind of figured no one would tear open a Type R engine to sell as parts. At least I gave it a try.

Its not that hard to find Type R parts, cams are the easiest to find the heads are a bit harder and people ask stupid money for them.

Our ls head flows damn good. We made 560/321 @ 21psi on pumpgas and it revs to and past 9500rpm with no problems at all.

not necessarily "fakes", just the incorrect years for what is claimed. Some will sell an ITR only to come find its a GS-R, or even a B16. Sometimes even the sellers don't realize they bought the wrong ones

I think I will go the safe route and purchase from the dealer. It may cost more but at least I will know for sure what I am getting.
