Can I make P1259 disappear?
Ok, so the F22B DOHC Non-VTEC is now in my '97 Prelude. We replaced a bad plug wire and drove it today and she's doing GREAT. Even on the H22A ECU its pretty zippy around town. It's not perfect, but it drives and idles fine.
I'm very happy. I only have ONE DTC code. It's P1259 VTEC Malfunction because the VTEC solenoid is not in the car. All the emissions look great on my scanner. The problem is the car will not pass in my parish with and DTC codes present because of the emissions requirements. Is there ANY way I can make this code go away? Can the VTEC solenoid be hooked up and just lay on the transmission just to complete a circuit? Is there anything I can jump out, etc?
If I can make this one code go away for a couple days I can make her 100% street legal.
THANKS.

You could try to just hook up the solenoid and leave it someplace in the bay, why replace a H22 with a F22B? Doesn't make sense unless you had no possibility of affording another H22.
A close friend sold me the car for a good deal. The H22A was flat wore out. Extremely low compression in all holes, but he messed up and accidentally bought a JDM F22B DOHC for it. So he just gave me the car and the motor on a crate. I didn't want to fool with taking the motor apart or finding another one.
This car is so gullible.
Had a few minutes so I took the VTEC solenoid off the H22A, threw it under the hood, plugged in the solenoid and just used a paper clip to jump the two pins together for the oil pressure to simulate ***** out oil pressure on the solenoid. No VTEC codes now. IDK if it will come back on if I reach the VTEC RPM point but keeping it under 4K it never came on. Though I do have intermittent knock sensor issue now. But hey, it's easy now.
