EG coupe throttle cable issue
Just the other day the accelerator pedal on my civic started traveling about 3/4 of the way down before the throttle opened any. I got under the dash and noticed a rubber spacer-like thing is broken. It is located where the cable meets the pedal. Without the spacer, the pedal has A LOT of play before it starts actually pulling on the cable. I can't figure out what the part is called or where to get it from? Anybody know?
It looks a little more like the stopper #29.
It can be seen here on the end of the cable that attaches to the pedal. It is the black little piece right before the end. It looks about a 1/2" in size http://www.angrypandaparts.com/catal...~_1_2772_1.JPG

You can't replace just the spacer. It's molded around the cable. Just replace the throttle cable. They're less than $20 from majestic Honda. Make sure you get the one that corresponds to your transmission type, auto and manual throttle cables are different at the pedal end.

You could go to lowes and find a rubber gasket or grommet in similar size, cut it open to fit over the cable and use electrical tape to wrap it. It would work as a temporary fix
Picked up some rubber hose today at lowes and cut it to fit around the cable then used zip ties to secure it together. Quick 5 minute fix while the new throttle cable gets in. Its sticking a little but im positive its the throttle and not the throttle cable. Will clean that too when im not to busy with school and work...
