car started about 3 weeks ago to start humming really loud. its sounds like its coming from the end of the exhaust. could it be the fuel pump? any help would be great i cant figure out what it is. i might have a video up soon so i can show the sound

Sounds like the fuel pump to me. But that crazy noise from the bay sounds like an exhaust leak man.

 

i had an exhaust leak a couple months ago, and was fixed. hopfully there is not another one somewhere else. ill post a better video in a couple mins.

update. car has a walbro 255.
since the car is basically stock but exhaust should i install a oem fuel pump?
also how hard is it to replace a fuel pump in a 2000 civic si?

 

umm i think you may need a valve adjust too.

 

^ you could hear it? i have been planning on getting the valves adjusted, just havnt had the money

 

damn thats a tuff one bro......yea start with the fuel pump it sounds electric....weird...keep us posted on what u find

 

ohh i know the noise! ive gotta adjust mine soon too. But money? all you need is the feeler gauge, maybe the valve tool(its like a socket with a flathead screw driver combined) but you can just use a socket wrench and screwdriver, maybe a new valve cover gasket and 1 days afternoon.
Any garage will charge you a ridiculous amount of $$ so do it yourself

 

valves adjusted now. car sounds and feels alot better. now on to replacing the walbro fuel pump for oem thanks!
