Ok guys, so I read a few old threads stating the stock fuel system (hard lines, fuel rail, fpr, oem fuel lines) can handle up to 400-500hp with no problem. With that being said, I'm wondering if I over did it with adding a aeromotive FPR to my fuel set up? My fuel set up consists of aeromotive 340 fuel pump, aem fuel rail, ID 1000's, and aeromotive FPR. Can I do without the FPR and just use the oem FPR on the fuel rail?? Also what determines if a FPR is really needed?? I dont ever plan to go over 500hp so keep that in mind plz.
The stock FPR is only going to be able to bypass so much fuel. When you upgrade from the stock pump and keep the stock FPR you will see a natural bump in rail pressure. That isnt always a bad thing unless its extreme. An aftermarket FPR will also give you ajustability to change the base pressure and sometimes the rising rate. So try the stock FPR first and see if the pressure is acceptable first.
