Default how do I make my short shifter have short throws?

I have a itr dual bend shifter with itr shift linkage and when moving the shifter left and right the gears are really close and tight but when actually putting the shifters into gear they go a little too high forward (1,3,5) and too far back (2,4)

i want the shifter to be short going front back left and right but i dont want to get a new shifter I just want to see if I can do a simple modification to make my throws shorter

any help would be great
thanks

Pretty sure you just need to get a new short shifter. You can sell your itr one and prob make more then what it will cost to buy a new one

Short throw shifters from eBay.

IMHO, they make the gears TOO close together and its a nuisance. Its like 2 inches of movement from gear to gear.

I dont mind the short distance from gears left and right but their a little too long for my liking going front and back

the itr dual bend short shifter is the same as the skunk 2 dual bend short shifter and all other dual bend short shifters it just came stock on the itr

so im trying to find a way to make the front and back theows between gears shorter without changing the shifter

You need a single bend short shifter

You can't, not easily anyway. You would have to cut the shifter between the ball and the bottom where the bolt goes through and weld a piece in between to lengthen it. You may end up having issues with it hitting the exhaust if you add too much to it.

Don't get an off brand ("eBay") short shifter. I've read a few reviews of people going to shift and having them just straight up snap. Although, I think I read in grumblemarc's modifications that he has an "eBay" short shifter.

Not remotely.

The shift throw distance is not dependent on the type of bend the damn shifter has, it has to do with the length of the fulcrum created by the shifter. Short shifters aren't "shorter" in length as much as they are longer in the points where the stabilizer bar and the shift lever connect via the shifter.

That said, my skunk2 short shifter has been amazing for the almost 6 years I've owned it. Great looking ****, 440 grams. Easily one of the best mods and one I couldn't live without.

Been driving my car hard for 6+ years with a short shifter and my transmission is perfectly fine. Short shifters don't hurt transmissions, bad drivers do.
