Need help on deciding a good/fast engine for my 93 civic ex
I got a 93 civic ex all stock that I'm trying to swap, I've worked and saved up and got $1500 too $1600 to spend. I wus lookin up some engines and I wus looking and these 4 b16b, b16a2, b18c,b18c5 or h22 witch would would be good for my car thats fast with alotta power for racing ? Or is there any other engines that would be better ?
out of those choices h22 will give you the most power.
if you dont care about smog or getting the engine bard, then get jdm engines over any us engines
i dont think 1500 is going to be enough for the complete swap, you might find any b series engine for around that price except the itr
and be prepared to spend more than expected, I just spend over 100 on oil, transmission fluid, coolant, hoses etc
for 1500 you might be able to get a decent turbo set up for your d series and if you do it right then you wont run into problems in the future

k swap will run you over 5k easily lol if you cut lots of corners you might be able to do it for less but not recommended do it right the first time or get stuck fixing stuff in the long run

given your only 17 and dont know too much about cars and less about turbos
stay away from a sohc turbo and do more research before you start investing money
and about the h22 tranny that is known for sucking lol they do have pretty short gears but nothing compared to the short itr or b16 gears
h2b is a great swap that will give you the torque of an h22 the same hp as an itr, and the short shifting of the b series engines
an h2b set up is cheaper than a k series swap and has close power to a k20
(not k24)
2000 can get you an h22 long block and a qsd kit so you can mate a bseries transmission to it but trasnny is at least 400 for a b16 or more if you want the itr with lsd
check out this thread for info on h2b and why soe people like the itr

Thanks !
I agree. Nothing but clutter and the OP never NEVER follows up. Just wants to post up and chat and play the "what if" game.
Biggest friggin engine with the most horsepower you can purchase and have installed. With your meager budget I'd save up more money so you can do it right.
