Default chasing a phantom ghost problem

Ok, so I've had this problem for almost a month now and I can't seem to fix or find the problem. Say I'm in 5th gear going 45 and I hit the gas a little to speed up, the car just acts like it doesn't register that I hit the pedal and I can feel that the car doesn't have the power as it should. So if I let off the throttle or punch it real quick it'll go back to normal. I've replaced multiple parts.....too much to list for typing on my phone but if you ask any questions I'd gladly respond. And no CEL.

Replaced it and calibrated it about five times. I have it set at .501 closed throttle. And I tried another MAP sensor and it still did it.

New O2 sensor and the throttle cable is correct.....not allot of slack. Thing is it's been doing this ever since I bought the car, it has just gotten worse over time. And the throttle doesn't stick.

That I'll have to do......I also thought maybe it could be fuel related or the ignitor? Last night I redid my ignition timing to cross that off the list. I have two extra dizzy's and neither of them worked for some reason, and one of them is brand new. So I took the coil out of my other refurbished one but still no luck. Another thing is that it idles fine as far as it not having surges or a bad fluctuating idle but it misses. I'm gonna replace the rotor button tonight even though it is less than a year old but even when the screw is tight, the plastic piece is still loose so it can wobble a little bit. I am very appreciative of all the responses please keep them coming.

Ok so I checked my compression and cylinder 1 was low, so I put about about a quarter of a oil cap in the chamber and it bumped it up more than the rest of the cylinders. This sounds like the culprit to me but I wanted to asked good ol' HT members if that would sound reasonable to them too?

Scratch that last post.....I was a idiot and didn't press the throttle down. Compression though was 185 - 190 all the way across.

Haha, I was just about to make you verify that you did the comp test correctly lol.

Sorry, don't feel like searching, but is the PM7 the DOHC ZC ecu? And what's the difference between the SI trans and the DOHC ZC trans? I'm just trying to determine if the ecu might be trying to make corrections for a different load being placed on the motor due to different gear ratios... a shot in the dark really. I don't have experience in this because I'm OBD1 and tuned properly for whatever the **** I wanna be, ya dig?

=

PM7 : 89-91 DOHC ZC (JDM 'EF' ECU)

I have an '89 Civic Si that had the same problem a few years back. Converted to OBD-1 and the problem never came back...

cus with obd0 cars the injectors dont prime until they are told to and they are told what to do by the distributor lol

You have to rule out the TB 100% before guessing the 100 other things it could be.

I believe 4.5 indicates WOT. If you're using a made-in-china meter doublecheck your voltage with a good meter just to make sure. If you can't get the voltages right, replace the throttlebody!

IMO, the last thing you want to do is convert to OBD1 when you have unresolved OBD0 issues.

My friend is a certified electrician so he let me borrow his fancy meter. I duo have a extra throttle body of a D16a1 that I will put on and see if that does anything. And calibrating the TPS it seriously just won't go over 4.30......no idea why. The symptoms seem to point to the TPS but without a code being thrown I feel like I'm shooting in the dark. Another thing that happens that I forget to mention is that taking off in first it'll either do the first thing I mentioned our it will have a hiccup....... But it's never consistent and I can't mimick it. But this weekend I'm gonna check connections and replace the throttle body. I've thought about converting to OBD1 but it's just my DD and not sure if that's the routeI'd wanna go.

Use some dielectric grease in the connection... My girls 95 sedan was throwing a code for the map and after shaking the connector I decided to use some grease and BAM....

Tip of the day. Dielectric grease has saved me a lot of work.
