Default Greddy 15g turbo kit for my civic. is it any good??

ok so i was wondering how good this turbo kit is. it's a greddy TD40H-15g turbo and Includes - Cast Mani, FCU, Air Intake, piping, hoses oil lines and misc. hardware.

my car has 92,000 miles on it so i would have to either rebuild/upgrade or i would run a low psi. my main concern is wether or not this turbo is any good. it's a smaller turbo so it should run less psi but spool up faster right?

is this kit worth buying? what kind of boost psi can this thing push? it has no intercooler but it's cheap so i like it is it worth the $1600?any info on this turbo would be great, thanks!

i'd get it if the kit is fairly new / brand new...i am getting the td05h-18g (standard in greddy kit for my GSR). i would assume the 15g is well matched to your engine.

Yeah, it will be nice on the ex. $1600..is it new?

That seems even more than a new one would cost for the SOHC's. W/o an intercooler, you're only going to be able to run ~6psi tops; and you will get REALLY tired of that REALLY fast; trust me. I had to run 6psi on my kit (And I was intercooled, had fuel problems), and when I finally was able to get to 8; I could really tell the difference.

The turbo will spool early. ~2250-2500, but it will let off in the upper end RPM's.

I would say go w/ a J/yard turbo project. Get a 14b (Off a 1g DSM), a DSM SMIC, DSM BOV, Charge Piping, and have your lines made for you. You'll spend 1/2 the $$, be able to boost more, and have a nice sized turbo.

$1600 is about retail on the SOHC GReddy kit. You can get them for around $1400 new, bone stock(no BOV, no IC, etc).

Sidemounts mount in the fender well of the cars they come on. You can mount it pretty much anywhere, as long as it gets airflow, and it works like any other air/air IC.

go here for a home made junk yard set up. It should cost you around $1000 for a complete kit W/ IC/BOV. A brand new SOHC GReddy kit comes w/o IC/BOV and should cost you around $1500. You can find a used kit if you're lucky for about $1200-$1500 with an IC and a BOV and maybe some extras....Good Luck.

hey wats up..im kinda wonderin about the used greddy thing....my friend offered to sell me his used mani, turbo and downpipe....but the turbo needs a rebuild...so wat i was wondering is....would a 16g turbo bolt up to the greddy manifold and ****...i figure it wouldnt be that more expensive to get then buyin the 15gt off of him and having it rebuilt and the 16g would make more power.....wat u guys think about this?

I don't see why a 16g wouldn't bolt up to the GReddy manifold...and ****. I believe both have square shaped flanges correct me if I'm wrong. Good Luck.
