Hey everyone im having some issues with my eg civic ex. So recently the distrubuter went out and i had to replace that so i replaced that got it all fixed and everything was fine. well then i lost my keys so i had to replace the ignition and i did that hooked everything back up right and now my car wont start. Ive tried everything to get it to start. It turns over "click click click" but wont officially turn all the way. ANYYYY IDEAS

 

Sounds like your wiring was faulty if it ran before you changed the ignition switch. Start tracing your work.

 

I made sure i did everything perfect. i double checked all my work when i did the ignition and everything was fine.

 

Sorry. It doesn't sound like it. Worked before replacement. Does not work after. This one is not that hard to figure out. Did you use a wiring diagram? Does it start up if you push-start it? Battery dead?

 

I would check the battery charge first

 

I tried to charge my battery and didnt work, tried to jump it and it didnt work. Plus im getting power everywhere else. I went and backtracked my work with the ignition by pulling it apart and starting over and i still am having the same problem so i know its not the ignition

 

Try doing a jump with the positive on the battery and the negative on the car body ground like the rad support, it really sounds like a dead battery.

Also i had this problem before, it turned out my Trans to frame rail ground was bad, take that off and sand all the connection points I'm pretty sure that will fix it. It was an off and on thing too sometimes it would work other times it would click.

Check your grounds Had a issue like this minus the ignition switch on an old Civic i had ended up being a bad ground connection right under the alternator! believe there is 4 total grounds thru. out the engine bay area make sure you got good connections!

I read something about my ecu could have gotten an error code when i switched out the ignition??

If my ECU did throw a code how to i reset it?

 

I herd something about being able to flash it by disconnecting your battery and that didnt work any other ideas?
