Default E-brake issue

Vehicle make - Honda
Vehicle model - civic
Year - 1991
Trim - standard (not dx)
Brake system - rear drum brakes

hello everyone my names Kendall I don't come on here a lot but this site has helped me a lot in the past. The problem at hand is when I pull up my ebrake only one tire will hold. The driver side works fine but no matter how far I pull up the ebrake I can take my pinky finger and move the passenger side tire.

I have tried taking off the drum cover and adjusting the shoe so that the shoe is slightly touching the cover but close enough to get the cover back on, but when I pull the ebrake it will still do the same thing.

My ebrake goes up to about seven clicks but on five clicks my driver side tire will hold my car. Any suggestions will be considered thanks Honda-tech.

Pull the ebrake and drive the car in reverse. This will adjust it. Do it several times. It should possibly fix it. If not raise up the car and make sure the parking brake cable is still attached to that wheel. Also check the back of your parking brake lever to make sure that cable is still attached there also.

Okay thank you I will try everything you have suggested since I have yet to try them in the past. But I had a question when you say drive the car in reverse with the ebrake up how far are we talking five feet, ten maybe twenty.

Over-time these brake cables stretch, worst case you have to replace one I would try adjusting them behind the ebrake lever and go look at where they attach it could be loose hope you figure this out!

Possibly 10-15. Then stop let it down the reraise and check and see if it holds fine. If not repeat. Takes several times usualy to do it if it hasnt been adjusted properly in awhile. I`ve had them take almost 7 trys before but you should notice a difference if its not holding at all.
