I am a newbie at the honda game i was looking up the k20/k24 frankistein swap and i was wondering if the jdm k20a and jdm k24a would fit together or is it just a certain type k20 or k24? also which transmission is better for the swap?

First thing I would like to say, just to help you out. Almost everyone on this site will cause problems and just harass you unless you actually sit down and do some research before you ask questions. I am not trying to be mean, but just informing you. Go to google and just use different key words and search.

any k20a/a2/z1/z3 head is able to be swapped onto any k24a1/2/4 block. the new k24z's in the 2012+ civic si and other cars are completely different and not compatible.

the thing you have to worry about with the different blocks is piston to valve clearance issues using i believe the a4 block with stock pistons. if you're doing aftermarket rods and pistons then any k24 block will work the same

Your questions are to vag and your answers are going to be vag.

Sure a JDM K20 head will fit a JDM K24 but it's not needed. In the K series world JDM ITR engines and etc are way over rated and are JDM Fanboy crap in my honest opinion.

You need to ask your self several questions.

1) How is my mechanical knowledge on engine building?
2) What are my power goals?
3) Am I staying N/A or going boost?
4) Do I really need a "frank build" or do I think it just sounds cool?!

I can't answer the transmission question without these questions being answered and I can't help you with your "frank" quest either.

Wat do you mean by vag?? I wanna n/a for a while then eventually go boost but that's a long long time from now.my goal is to push it all motor as far as it can go. My mechanical knowledge is gud and I have 3 other friends that r Honda heads. Well the frank swap I do think its pretty cool but I also head that its faster then the regular k20 or k24.
Hey doood if I do the frank swap which tranny is better or it don't matter??

Ok.... I'm just going to step in and before I close this thread say this...

K20/K24 FRANK doesn't mean **** unless you do some research and figure out what you are building. You do a frank because you buy a cheap K24 block and have a head lying around. My straight 07 K24A2 could be better than a frank but without any REAL INFORMATION about the build.. you will never know...

What pistons are you going run?
What compression are you going to build it to?
Are you going to do anything to the head?
What rods are you running?
ETC ETC ETC....

You can't just say you're going to build a frank and not list what you are thinking..
What block are you going to run?
What crank are you going to run?
What head would you like to build?
What cams are you going to use?
What valve setup?

as far as transmission I ask because I've built many and that matters. I assume you rock an 02-04 so if that is the case stick with that transmission. But then I ask about setup because final drive and gearing will make a difference. Also things like LSD will matter.

Are you going N/A? If so you want a higher final drive like the 4.7fd from the 05 typeS or the 5.0 from the CTR.

If you are going boost stick with the stock 4.3FD and just add an LSD like a Quaife.

I know you haven't done any serious research so please do and come back with real question that prove this. I have spent hours doing research and can tell you have done none. Like said before we don't need to spoon feed you. We are here to help you, not babysit you. The k24 is becoming a very common swap, I know so I'm apparently one of the trend setters according to Honda Tuning lol

Seriously also stop typing like you are talking slang. It's super annoying and a pain in the *** to read. Pretend the world still has class and show us you know grammar and english. Thank you.
