Default possible to build a d15z1 block?

i currently have a JDM D15B in my eg right now, and the previous motor, d15z1, is chilling in the garage. i have searched and there seems to people saying that yes you can use d16 aftermarket internals in the JDM D15B and some people say no you can't.

after searching multiple web forums without a definitive answer, i thought about maybe building the z1 block, and slapping the JDM head on there, essentially making it a built replica of the JDM D15B. i guess it's kinda like doing the same thing twice, but after the second time, you get a different result.

so to get back to my question, is it possible for me to build the z1 block? if so, are there companies out there that offer off-the shelf internals for the z1?

i'm pretty sure it would be way easier just sourcing a d16 block and just building that since there is a wide array of aftermarket parts already available but i have the z1 just sitting there and thought maybe i could utilize it for something.

apologies in advance if the post is a bit confusing.

the vx has really good rods, some say to be the same from the d16z6 being to much stronger. im sure the jdm d15b has those too tho. the weak link in the vx would be the pistons, they got a huge dish in them.

you could build anything you want, but the jdm d15b is already the best outcome you probabli could get for a 1.5, stock-wise.

oh yea, try the basic companies in bottom ends like Eagle or crower. maybe dart?

thanks for the comments--i have tried searching but to no avail. it seems that there is a uniqueness to the JDM D15B block where aftermarket internals won't work, i believe the piston pin location is a little higher. lol, did i just answer my own question then? if a JDM D15B is essentially a z1 block with a z6 head, then i won't be able to build the z1 block then correct? i guess posting at 1:17AM in the morning can make you think retarded

yeah, im looking up specs on both the d15b7 and d15z1. I have both. I think i found out that the rod length is the same on the d15z1 as it is on the z6, but the d15b7 has shorter rods, but with the same displacement? Weird.

I am building up a 1.5 as well.

The Z1 rods are not the same as the Z6 and D15B rods. The Z1 rods are #13210-P07-000, and the A6/Z6/D15B/Y7/Y8 rods are # 13210-PM6-000.

I want to use a D15 block and acquire 12.5 CR with OEM pistons. Which block and piston should I use to stay at zero or below piston to deck height?
