rebuilt my ls and put it in a 99 coupe. i put my old y8 guts that i know worked into a ls housing, tried starting it and all it did was back fire and kick the starter. nothing good at all happen. switched the little nipple thinking it was 180 out and still nothing. so i put the guts back into the single cam housing and of course only one bolt lines up but i just wanns start it. i put it in and it fired for like 1 sec at a time. the single cam dizzy seemed to work way better and yes its all te right fire order and engine is in time!!! can i switch like the guts or no? do you think its the diy and i just need to find one

Yes you can. The mount points for the sensors are the same, and I believe they use the same shaft with the same trigger wheels, stamped P06.

You may have to swap the gear on the end of the shaft that goes into the camshaft. you have to mark or record what way that gear goes on, take off the ring using a small screwdriver, push the silver pin out and the end will come off.

yes i was talking about the distributor. and yes i figured out you can switch them. i am embarressed to admit what the problem was but maybe this will help some one else. lol i forget to "tune" the aftermarket map sensor into hondata. s300 was looking for a stock one and if its not stock everyone knows it wont run. its weird because it fired with sohc but it runs now. thanks
