Bought a Civic Dx with a B16 swap and runs good but I live in New York and the ECU thats running the car doesnt show the engine in the OBD so I cant pass inspection, whats the easiest and cheapest way to make the ECU show the engine on the OBD? Please help need to inspect so i can use it only have ten days to pass

 

What year of the chassis? Year of the engine? What ECU is in it?

 

1996 chassis, have no idea year of engine and ecu says 37820-p28-a02

 

Could I get a 96 HX vtech ECU?

 

No. Run a proper ECU for that engine.

 

Try and find a 96-97 usdm p30 from the del sol

 

The USDM p30 ecu's are rare to find and even if you do find one its not gonna come cheap.

 

They pop up every now and then on portland craigslist.

Im from california and i have a 92-95 usdm p30, to make my engine bard and i bought it from some guy for like 250

 

Yeah send me a pm a guy on CL in VA has one for 250, he will ship and he has it on ebay too

 

But my hatch is obd2 and all the p30's ive found are obd1

 

will the stock ex P2P OBD2A work on reading all the sensors. All i want is to pass inspection after i pass it ill still put the p28 back on it all i really care about is the obd scanner reading all the sensors

 

unless thats a chipped p28 don't you dare put it back on.
run the ECU for the motor. duh.

Well found out the best way to pass inspection is not having to do it, registered the car in florida and dnt have to deal with that no more. Thanks guys for all the input and my bad for not being clear with the posts.
