JVT Radiator/Fan 94 sol VTEC
Hi everyone. I was looking to replace my cooling fan and figured i might as well replace the radiator as well. Has anyone dealt with JVT products? Or is there another brand i should look into. Not needing to cool a track car just a DD. Thanks
That's the dumbest comment I've heard in a while. Do you know why companies make radiators out of aluminum instead of the usual aluminum with plastic upper compartment? Might want to read up on that before making such comments without facts behind it.
Did you miss the part where he said he was just doing this as a DD? I don't see you backing up your claims with any proof, either. Stock or stock replacement is just fine for DD repair and maintenance. There is absolutely no reason to spend $150+ when you can get an OE replacement from Advance for half that, on a non-modified car.

Read this post and give me your logical response why stock or OEM are so much better than all-aluminum radiators.

the real question is...why are you replacing the fan in the first place? is the motor broken? the blade broken? oem fan w/ oem shroud is going to be way better than most aftermarket fans and you can easily find a replacement at the junk yard.
If you can find an OEM replacement from Advance Auto for under $100, I will gladly pay for it. Those things are at least $100 the last time I bought one a few years ago. For $75 more, you can get an ALL-ALUMINUM Mishomoto radiator and dont have to worry about cracks or leaks.

I noticed that my car was running a little hot while idleing. Checked under the hood and my fan wasn't working. Checked fuses and they were all good. So i swapped the Rear defroster relay with the cooling fan relay and nothing. Figured the fan just went out. I have receipts of everything replaced on the car, and the radiator and fan wasn't in that list. Might as well replace both at the same time.

I looked at the troubleshooting link u posted. One of the fans run when i turn on the AC. My fuses are good. As fast as jumping the wire, i couldn't figure out the wire i needed to short. Is the the wire on top of my cooling fan next to my overflow reservoir?
no. look on the thermostat housing. there is a 2-pin connector. this is the fan switch (thermoswitch). simply use a paperclip or piece of wire and connect the two terminals on the plug connector.
Lol alright thanks man. I'll be checking it when i get off of work in the morning. If i decide to buy the JVT Radiator/Fan will it all bolt right up? Or am i going to have to do a few things before it fits right.
the radiator should fit right in. if you decide to switch to the slim fan, those are generally universal and will need to be mounted to the radiator with zip ties/ mounting brackets
