Check the cable itself and make sure its not pinched around the brake booster area to the TB bracket. Mine was stuck there and the TB got stuck.

Do you have a friend that can lend you a different throttle body? Weird that it sticks after you clean it. Does it open freely when you do it by hand

I had the same problem, remove throttle body and clean it with a green scotchbrite pad, I had to really scrub to get it all clean and free moving. Mine used to stick so bad I bent the throttle cable bracket.

^^^ x2. Clean out around the flap and your problem should be gone.

If it's not the TB it's probably the cable binding. New cables are not expensive.

Mine did the exact same. I fixed mine by just adjusting the cable a little and tighting it back down and I haven't had a problem since.

okay thanks guys. yea its a gsr swapped eg. it has an oem throttle body - obd 1 on a skunk 2 intake mani. i have cleaned the isht outta the throttle body on and off the vehicle. cable appears to be moving freely if pulled at the throttle body by hand and at the pedal by foot. it only does it now and then. it didnt have this problem when i was runnin a jdm throttle body on the same intake mani.. thanks, gonna remove the tb today and yet again scrub the isht outta it, checked cable its tight enough.. so maybe its binding inside.. maybe buy another cable if the clean up doesnt fix it..

removed the tb. sprayed with tb cleaner and let soak in.. sprayed again and again, opening and closing the butterfly to really work it in there. spent a good hour polishing the inside with a scotch brite pad. zero black oil carbon shi% left behind looks as clean as it could be. scrubbed the butterfly and its edges till the looked like new gold.. so the f in thing is almost workin perfectly now, a huge improvement but still sticks. just a little bit. enough to cause me to be frustrated by it. cable is routed correctly and the correct tension has been set to the adjuster mechanism .. not tryin to throw money and just replace the cable but dam, what do you guys suggest??

Sounds like your cable. I had this problem, might be different but what used to happen is I used to step on the gas and NOTHING! so I popped the hood and everything looked fine, but they I had my brother sit in the car and step in the pedal repeatedly and I saw the problem. The cable had a twist in it so sometimes the cable would jump of the track jn the lever. Fix- removed the cable from the throttle body and twisted so that the bend in it was in the opposite direction.

I had the same issue with my TB turned out the butterfly flap had actually put grooves in the sidewalls of the TB itself, dont have a clue how the hell that happend so I just bought a used one an it works fine.
