Drive-by-wire cleaning
Is there anything special that should, or shouldn't be done, when cleaning a DBW throttlebody? Can I move the throttle plate around, and not screw something up.

Re: Drive-by-wire cleaning
what i do is turn the key on, using a thottle depressor open the throttle fully. using an old tooth bush spay wd40 or rust penetrating spay spray the bristles of the brush and clean the throttle plate. and clean up with a clean shop towel. i will aslo spray carb clean on the brush depending on how dirty it is and spay some into throttle body. dont spray to much carb clean into the throttle body because it might give you a hard time starting. you should also give it a good raodtest when finished

Thanks Mike. I don't have a throttle depressor (whatever that is), so I guess I'll have to settle for a son or wife.
