Icon2 Air Breathers????

Do air breathers on the crankcase actually contribute to better performance and cleanliness or are they just a marketing gimmick? They are fairly inexpensive and I was wondering if anyone has any experience using them? Thank you for your time!

No performance difference. I'd just rather not have any of whatever's coming out of the valve cover routed back into the intake air.

Is it going to release that much gas?

You won't pass a visual emissions inspection and you'll smell the unburned fumes that escape your cylinder head.
If you're ok with this, then go for it.
If you want a legal solution to not sucking in oil and crud from the top of your motor, use a catch can without a breather filter.

Well, youll gain some performance if vented correctly as the crankcase doesnt have pressure build up.

just like the honda engines are restrictive, same goes for the pcv system.. its all for emissions.

Doesn't really do anything on a stock engine.

A breather isn't needed and u get no performance gain. Just put on a catch can or you might end up with this.

Catch can is not needed on a stock engine. Don't know what mudslide you drove through but i have NEVER had ANY of my intakes for ANY of my Hondas look like that.

Again. Not. Needed. On. A. Stock. Engine.

And my intake doesn't look like that and I'm boosted.

Hell, I run one because the baffle in my valve cover is missing and I don't wanna ingest oil through the hose

Either your PCV valve is clogged, or you have seriously blow-by issues. Was this autocrossed or tracked?
