Default Eg/ek Fix stripped rear upper control arm bolts

So I hit a curb couple of weeks ago, rim had curb rash went and got an aligment done everything was good... Now I notice after a week later I had positive camber and I felt scared going fast around a corner, took the wheel off today and found of the upper control arm bolt just hanging in the arm! So started to search around couldn't find alot of information other then cut and weld a new nut behind...so I brought out my tap an die set and try to rethread the hole... Somewhat helped but the bolt had too much play even when all the way.. Looked to sketchy..anyways here what you need to do.

To fix the issue you need:
Tap and die set
Adjutable Wrench
14mm socket
7/16-20 bolt

Here's how it looked after going at it with m10x1.25 die

Here's the size you need to use 7/16 n20

Here's where the Adjutable wrench comes in to play

Take alittle while but almost done

My tiny adjustable wrench always come handy lol

Here's how the hole looks after rethreading is done

Now to go grab a 7/16-20 bolt....

All done nice and tight torqued to 29 ftlbs

One step I missed was that the 7/16 20 bolt will be a touch too big for the control arm hole just run the tap through the arms hole to make the bolt nice and tight!

Thanks hope this helps people in the future!

using an adjustable sounds sketchy. please use a tap handle or a tap socket.

The welded nut is broken. you are going to have to cut it out and repalce it, and weld the hole back up.

Please!!!!! Do not dredge up another thread about this issue when you were already told what to do the last time! Everybody check his post history if you don't believe.

FIX IT ALREADY!!!!!!!!

But, if you read his post, you'll see what I bolded.

IF the welded nut inside the frame is broken, how the hell will retaping it fix the problem?

And you had it messed up this way since what? October? November of last year? And created half a dozen new threads and bumped almost another half a dozen dead threads during that time and took NO action.

All the while you were not describing the problem accurately.
