I have a d16y8 and when i go start the car about 5 mins later my idle goes up and down like crazy and wont stop till like 5 or 8 minutes later this being happening for the past few weeks.... Note that i had had that problem b4 and some one told me it was my iacv i was told to clean it or buy a new 1 but i didnt had a good income long story short i clean it with brake cleaner like i was told and problem was fix since sumer time now is back.... Question is the problem back or could it be something else help!!!!!!

 

Try cleaning it again, that'll answer the question for you.

 

 

that happened to me after i P&P my head, i used some carburetor cleaner n it went away...

 

i cleaned today but it still the problem is there any ideas in what could it be??????????

grab a multimeter and check the voltages coming from the TPS. Your TPS might need to be replaced if you have already cleaned the IACV multiple times.

 

Check for vacuum leaks, with the engine running spray brake cleaner around hoses near the throttle body, intake area, don't over due it, if you hear a change in sound as it runs chances are that is your problem, of it it dies.
