Spark cut instead of vtec? Wtf. Help please
I got a eg with a 94 gsr swap, p28 ecu chipped. Been running perfect for the longest, heres the problem..
Vtec is set at 4,500 2 step is set at 5,500 (i know VERY high).
Anyways driving it, when vtec should hit it does a spark cut instead. No CEL's at all, yes my CEL works as well. 2 step doesn't work either, as basically the car won't allow you to rev that high when WARM. But when cold, everything works as should, except vtec obviously because it won't work until warm. 2 step works fine, and it goes through all the rpm's smooth when COLD. Until it starts to heat up, my guess would be the ecu going bad, or a coil or something along those lines. Anyone with some info chime in please?
Can include anymore info you need

No.. bone stock gsr. Hasport mounts, aem fuel rail/fpr, skunk2 intake.
Was set like that when I got it.. but how is "Why is vtec set there and why is the 2 step set there?" related to the question..

It relates because people that USUALLY run these things have more modified engines. If you're not throwing a CEL then the first thing I'm going to go with is your "chipped" P28 since the 2 step isn't working either..

VTEC that low on ITR cams... you are loosing power.
your actual question, check your coil, ignitor and the program in the chip.
I've seen all of those things go bad and cause what you describe.

Yes, I do realize this. I did not do that. Regardless, seems as if people are bashing more than they are helping. I asked a question, didn't need people to comment on the setup.. the car has ran fine with that setup for over a year now, so that's not the problem. But where i'm leaning and hoping is the coil/ignitor, also hoping to go to a stock gsr ecu now too
This is a public forum. There's plenty of people here that can help you out but it seems like you're the one that doesn't want help or cannot accept constructive criticism. You can either search on your own (seems like you didn't) or take our advices and see what's going on with your car. We cant do the work for you.
