99 Gsr vibration at 7000 help
Whats up guys,
I just purchased a 99 Gsr and the car runs great but at 7000rpms there is a vibration and gets worse as revs increase. It vibrates the pedal so much your foot rattles. I have searched the forums and seen a couple of other guys with this same problem but they never posted a solution.
Here are the specs on car:
99 Gsr
Skunk 2 pro series intake manifold
Aem intake
Apex muffler
Not sure about ecu being remapped or anything, previous owner didn't know.
It does it even when sitting still out of gear so not a drivetrain problem. Any help greatly appreciated.

Yea they look ok. They are the stockers and they don't look bad(no rips or gaps). It's got 105,000 on it, I wonder if they could look alright but still give the vibration.
Check your throttle cable route and mounting. If its rubbing up on the motor or has slack anywhere its absorbing the vibrations from the motor sending it to your pedal. Could also be bad torque mounts.

How do you know its RPM dependent?? IS it speed dependent and you just think its rpm dependent??
What this "vibration" , if you're feeling it in your feet, more or less its something "speed, or movement" related. Probably your axles, inner joints to be more accurate.
Go make a pull, and when you get to redline, push the clutch in and see if you "still" feel it in your foot.

Like i said, It is rpm dependent. It does it when sitting still out of gear. I went back and check throttle cable routing and it looks a little worn but nothing major. I went and checked pedal assembly and everything is fine there. A quick look at the torque mounts and those things are looking horrible. They are about as worn as it gets. I will start there and see how much improvement that yields. This teggy needs some love, as soon as I get this diagnosed I get a check engine light for cylinder 4 misfire and the car takes a while to fire up and stumbles for a bit before finding idle. I'm just gonna go one problem at a time. I will post results after changing the mounts out. Thanks for the help again guys. I've been out of the integra game for a while, I just did a 2JZGTE T66 Lexus SC300 swap and have been eating and breathing Supra stuff for the past year.
Well this thing is really testing me now. I took the car up to honda because it was a little rough idle at start up. CEL came in for cylinder 4 misfire. Honda says they can't find anything wrong with it. A day after I got it back, cooling issues arrived. My temp guage started going from normal to hot back to normal staying on hot.....all over the place. I have since replaced thermostat, gasket, coolant temp sensor, rad fan switch, coolant temp sender, and fluids. Car doesn't run hot when sitting but a quick drive and she's up to the red! It weird because if you cut it off and turn key back on temp guage is back at normal position, there is no way it can cool down that quick. I'm getting quite frustrated with her.
Well, cooling problem fixed. Not only did I receive a bad thermostat but the previous owner had overtightened the cap on the radiator. It was just enough for air to seep in and cause it to run hot. 1 new radiator and cap installed, problem fixed. I redid all the grounds on the block using 2 gauge wire, and replaced pcv valve and hose hoping it would fix the stumbling startup. Car runs a lot smoother now but the startup is still sketchy. It just putters for 5-10 seconds until it finally flattens out and idles correctly.
Mine will do the same thing every now and then. Seems to only do it if its driven on a cold morning say around 35 degrees and later in the day it warms up to 60 degrees. It doesnt like the change in weather and will sputter for 5 or so seconds then mello out. The crazy thing is in a reversed situation it won't do it. I tend to just ignore it because the car runs perfectly outside of that specific situation. If you figure it out post back so I can fix it on mine. Lol
I was planning on ignoring the problem for a little while but I went out to drive it to work and she wouldn't fire up at all! No check engine light either. It turned over and over and never fired. It tried to putter for just a second but didn't. I tried for 5 min and gave up. My buddy leaves his Valentino Rossi edition R1 in the garage for me when he ships out. I would have been stuck at home without it. I am gonna try and get her cranked when I get home but doesn't seem promising. I am thinking maybe a fuel problem, It's just weird that once it found idle it was fine before. If I can get it cranked I might just take it up to Honda.
