Default 99 civic ex mini me swap starting problem

I have a 99 civic ex with d16y7 block and d16y8 head, edelbrock turbo kit with 550cc rc injectors. On cold start up, i'll turn the key, car will crank but no start, pull the spark plugs out and they are soaked with fuel. I'll blow air on the plugs and inside each cylinder. Put the plugs back in and car starts right up with no problem. Runs great. From time to time it will shut off when its hot and won't start after letting it sit for like 5-10 minutes. I've already replace the distributor with oem and aftermarket, main relay, engine coolant sensor that goes in the head, tps , and IAC valve. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Maybe the injectors are flooding the cylinders with fuel?

adjust your fuel pressure reg to have less fuel and u need to gap the spark plugs.

Whatever. What are your AFRs reading at startup? What engine management are you using?

so.. fuel is soaking the plugs, not allowing spark. therefore, you need less fuel lol. sounds to me like you need a better tune friend.

what are your spark plug gap size? whats your afr reading is it super rich? cold start up normaly put more fuel to engine until it warmed up...you may also need a hotter spark ie after market spark coil if stock not up to the task...also is your o2 sensor good?

@ RonJ@HT- yes that's what it appears to be happening.
@ Jdm4lyf- i have a stock fuel rail and regulator. just injectors and fuel pump upgraded. and spark plugs are gapped at 0.035 of an inch.
@ grumblemarc- My AFR readings are start up initially start at 14.7 and it gradually drops down to 10.8-11.3. But after I drive the car for a long time it will eventually idle at 13.3 or so. And I'm using Crome.
@ Townson- That's what I figured at first but that car has been retuned several times and it still does it.
@ Like I said previously, spark plug gap size is about 0.035 of an inch. What do you mean by a "hotter spark" as in less degree spark plug ? Because I'm using BR7E plugs. My secondary o2 sensor is disabled and my primary is where my wide band o2 sensor is plugged in. Where can I get an aftermarket ignition coil? I though oem distributor/igniter was fine.

@Townson- I had 370cc before and I didn't have this problem before or as far as i remember. But if the 550cc injectors are tuned wouldn't they cause no problem or is something else causing them to spray more fuel on start up?

U need to get an adjustable fuel pressure reg that will aliviate some of the gas and as far as injectors if it's tuned it's shouldn't matter but mayb at start up requires a **** ton more fuel wich u can't adjust unless ur on a hulog data logger to mess wit it that's y I say fuel pressure reg. also wat number spark plug u runnin and r the igniters burnt off not just dirty but like burnt off!!! Lol

No. You need to get a better basemap/tune because you should NOT be running to rich at idle. An FPR aint gonna do squat. Your fuel pressure is reading what at idle/WOT (with/without vacuum)?

Is it a real tune or a basemap? If it's just a basemap Phearable can hook you up with a better one. If it was tuned one the smaller injectors and not on the larger then you've just explained your fuel issues. If the same people are "tuning it" and this problem is occurring then find another tuner.

@ Jdm4lyf- How would an adjustable fuel pressure regulator aliviate fuel at idle? isn't stock fuel pressure set at 45 psi? and if i get a FPR what should i set the pressure at then? I do have a hulog data logger but i can't read any info because in order to datalog you need the emulator. I'm using NGK BKR7E and I dont see none of electrode/igniter on the plugs burnt off.
@ grumblemarc- I'm running on a tune not a basemap and it is tuned for the 550cc. what should my AFR's be at idle? I thought they were suppose to be at 13.5-14.5. The same people have been "tuning it" and i guess i do have to find another tuner. I was thinking of tuning it myself but i'm not sure.

Am I running too cold of a spark plug? or do I need to get a higher output ignition coil like a accel 11076? maybe oem is too "weak" of a spark?

Would a bad IAT sensor affect the vehicle this way? Just throwing suggestions...

Thanks for the help everyone.

So tried the IAT and didnt change a thing.... what kind of spark plugs is everyone using for a turbo set up on a civic now a days? maybe my brk7e are too cold of a plug or not cold enough? or maybe the resistor on the plug is causing a problem?

One or two steps colder depending on the horsepower.
What color is your spark?

i dont know if anyone is still looking at this post but im still having the same problem and here's the thing with spark, initial start up the spark is blue/white but when the car shuts off and doesnt want to start again the spark is orange and hesitant. but after a like 5 - 10 minutes the car starts right up like nothing happens. I have two oem dizzy and one after market one and still same issues and replaced tons of other stuff and no results, please need help on this.

How does the voltage reaching the distributor compare to battery voltage? Have you cleaned and tightened the battery ground and the G101 ground on the thermostat housing?

sounds like tune!

What kinda of impedence is the injectors? low or high? Might need inline resistors.

That wouldn't make him run rich.

@RonJ@HT- measuring voltage from the black and yellow wire (ignition input) to the distributor is the same as battery voltage 12.7 IOEO. Or what did you mean by that statement? Didn't clean the ground at the thermostat housing but did checked if it was a good ground by putting my leads from the DVOM at the battery positive and ground and it showed available battery voltage. i'll take it off and clean it to make sure.

BobbyRodriguez- they're rc 550cc high impedance injectors.

And does anyone know a tuner around the philadelphia area that uses crome? to see if it really is the tune...
