99 Civic Ex D16y8. Auto.

Did a brake job and brake master cylinder on it. Sat for a couple days to gain parts. Fired up for about 20 seconds when done with brake job then died. Never could get it to start again. It cranks over but no start.

Spark... Old plugs orange spark. Replaced plugs Blue spark arc
Fuel pump primes
Fuel Pressure Top of Fuel Filter shows tons of pressure upon releasing
Spark plugs are wet from cranking
Timing belt is dead nut on and right and with rotor and cam gear.
Injectors show 12v
Injectors show pulsating upon starting/injector wire
Main relay was replaced with 2 other used ones from junkyard all work and click the same...
NO CEL
Compression cold obvi. 125 125 150 150
Sprayed carb cleaner down one of the vacuum nipples on manifold no difference...

Ideas???? I am stumped... not too often...

Probably weak spark. Spark should be bright white. Ohm test the coil. Also inspect the cap and rotor, and replace the plug wires if old.

Ohm tested the coil it is within book specs... on both tests

What were the Ohm readings? Did you subtract the internal resistance of the meter from the primary coil reading?

Sometimes a bad ICM can also cause weak spark, though a bad coil is generally the cause.

Check your ground cables, make sure they re grounded to bare metal with no paint on the metal. and they are tight.

I didn't go any further with the old distributor was lucky enough to have local auto parts store give me the distributor and being able to return it if it did not fire... $150 TD63U Duralast.

It fired up. As mentioned above it must of been a weak spark and not strong enough. My guess was the igniter... or weak coil. Coil did show signs of heat.
