Default question about wiring city/parking lights

i wanted to get some new headlights with the city lights for my 99 civic. the wiring for them looks pretty easy but i was wondering if the city lights stay on all the time? or do they shut off after switching from running lights to headlights?

They stay on the way you wire them to stay on. I don't understand the question.
Here. Someone asked this question almost 10 years ago.

I have it set up to my park lamps...so when I turn on the headlights it will stay on because of the park lamps...I was thinking of later to run it to my high beam and put like a h3 HID but that's kind of dumb now that I'm thinking about it...

The correct way is to have them wired so that they turn on with the parking lights and are not on with the high or low beam!

FYI, city lights = parking lights. People call them differently.

Wrong. City lights stay on the whole time the headlights are on
