Default pics of return line and turbo is this to tight of a degree?

so im wrapping up my build and the return line i know shouls be as smooth as possible with no sharp bends or kinks and the center cartridge shoule be straight up and down.
this is where im stuck the runners on the top mount manifold do not allow me to run a return line straight and smooth as shown in the pic. (i acnnot go between them not enogh room)

as for the cartridge it will not go straight up and down the oil line blocks it but it is very close..the return oil line is up against the runner underneath is this to steep of a degree or do you think it will be ok? i could always use a rubber hose with smaller fittings and avoid this but i would be wouldnt because it would burn with the heat from the manifold

bit of info on the car

built b16 9:1
JDL top mount v/band
Precision 5857 BB bilet V/band
Precision 38mm gated V/band

Thats a tough one righ there. Can we get bigger pictures of the first one?

It looks like there would be a possibility of oil pooling right at the bottom, but im not 100% sure.

It looks like there is alot of slack in that return line, but thats understandable because you dont want it resting right on the manifold.

However, if it were my car, id be a little hesitant about running it like that.

bigger pictures would be great.

Shorten the hose and angle the bottom hose end up. And I would get a new hose end for the top and angle it away from the manifold.

cut the line a little shorter so the fitting on the oil pan tilts up a little, then you should be good

^ er ya, if the hose is rubbing against the pipes it will fry in a short period of time,

move the line away or maybe get some header wrap on it, and the pipe touching it

I had the same problem with an AFI topmount, I used a 45* off the turbo facing it towards the front and a little to drivers side to clear the runner and a 45* off the pan facing up, haven't noticed a problem also wrap the line with that silver heat resistant tape from dei

the braided jacket won't but what's inside can. you don't want an oil line directly on the manifold. under boost for any sustained period of time that manifold will glow red. that's the kind of heat you have there. if that oil return fails not only will you loose oil pressure and destroy the motor, you'll light the car on fire

i agee.
but the oil line i am am using is a aircraft quality 10k psi line very well inforced.
i just wish there was space in between the pipes of the manifold to leave room for the line. it stinks that i have to go around them.
well i will take my time and keep trying until it is done the right way

i'm using the same stuff. still a bad idea to have it on a manifold. you could buy some DEI wrap for the runner it's sitting on, that would help some, or, my choice, fab a bracket to hold the line a good 1/2" away from the manifold. fabbing up holder brackets would cure the problem for good

I would rotate the center housing a little bit. It doesnt have to be 100% straight up and down, it can be clocked a little. That way you can run a 30 degree fitting on the oil pan and have a decent slope. Heres what I mean.

Also I would cover the braided line in some of that Earls fireproof sleeving since it looks like you cant get around the drain being so close to the manifold
