Oil Line Help

Default Oil Line Help

Hello

i'm working on getting every thing ordered for my ek4
but i still have a few questions

i'm gonna install a oil cooler and i will be using a sandwich for that but the feed line for the turbo where should i get the oil for the feed line? if the cooler takes both plugs in the sandwich?

or is the sandwich only 2 outputs?

Yes - if you buy a 2 outlet sandwich. They also sell ones with 3 and even 4 outlets... maybe more.

You might not want to use a sandwich plate for the feed line because it is unfiltered oil that would be fed to the turbo. I did this on a fresh build and messed my turbo up pretty bad.

Granted if this is a higher mileage motor you might be okay because there wont be machining scraps everywhere but I would rather just use a brass T fitting on the back of the block (the oil pressure sensor port) like this:



I did something a little different, I made an oil distribution block since I had a temperature sender too and was worried the vibrations would make the brass fitting crack. Heres a quick sketch of what I did:
