Hello,
I just picked up a 96 civic ex. The PO had a hack job for the radio wiring, so I picked up a harness and got the radio to work.
My dome light isn't working, was previously working only with the ON position, but now it won't work at all. This morning when it only worked with the ON position, i tried the light green/red and light green/black wires but that didn't work. (is it lg/r to lg/r & lg/b to lg/b or do you do lg/r to lg/b?)
My climate control also doesn't light up, (replaced it this AM, but not sure if it works)
I checked every fuse with a test light and they all work, and the ones that didn't light up I doubled checked.
What should I do now? I checked the fuses underneath the hood as well, still no luck.
I have power to both sides of the dome light (checked with test light), no matter what the switch is on. I also used another bulb but that didn't work either.
Thanks for the help.

Anything wired to the dimmer? Every time someone posts something like this someone has always tapped/hacked into the dimmer switch.

I'll go check, but I've used the dimmer switch before and it works properly.
My dome light was working with the ON position and now it's not at all.

Dimmer Switch works perfectly, and isn't hacked up at all.
I stated in the post that I checked all the fuses, both sides, with a test light.
Also did the fuses under the hood as well.

I believe so, I tired alternating two different bulbs, one of which I KNOW worked.
The fuse link or whatever is still good in the bulbs

re-wired the green/red to the green/black and i got the dome light to work in the middle position, just not the ON position.
also fixed the climate control lights (forgot to plug the green plug back in, oops!)

The stock radio had the domelight wiring wired internally into it. Google "96-98 Civic domelight issue".

I got it figured out. I had the dome light hanging so once i put it back up it was grounded so now everything works.
had to cut the g/r wire and jump it to the g/b wire.
thanks for all the help
