would a honda civic 2000 start without oil?
I have a honda civic 2000 and it will not start. I can hear the starter trying to turn the engine over, but it wont start. I gave it a jumper, still same won't start. I think it might be either the sparks plugs or the distributor(maybe both). But I notice that it had very little oil in the dipstick... do you guys know if an engine without oil would prevent it from start?
Thanks

Obviously it has oil and the car will start with low oil. Even near to no oil. Your title is misleading. Your no-start has nothing to do with the low oil.
I tried push start it, and didn't work.... as far as the others things I don't know how to check for sparks; however, I opened a tap on top of the motor and I can see the pistons go up and down

so I guess that the answer to the question whether the engine can start without oils is "YES" so I can discard the problem is no oil... yes I know I need to put oil in the car before I do anything else
This is from the FAQs.
