long road trip with boosted car?
how many have driven more than 1000 miles in one trip in a boosted civic/integra/prelude/etc?
i'm thinking of boosting my car, but i go on a lot of trips, and i'd like to use my own car.
So i'm wondering how many of you have actually gone on long trip with it. I know it depends on how reliably its built though (cheap, fast, reliable pick 2)

I used to drive from Indiana to New jersey when I was going to school and coming home for breaks and holidays. That's 750miles one way. And I did that about 26 times with both a stock turbo setup and a full built turbo setup and I've only had a problem once. One of the bolts holding my axle back to the rest of the exhaust decided it wanted a piece of the open road lol.
I only ever stopped for gas and food every 300 miles

i drive my car everywhere all the time im by toronto and ive driven to detroit and back, plus when i autocross i drive 2 hours to get there race all day and drive 2 hours home, dont worry about driving it. when youre not in boost it should drive like stock.
I drove back and forth from NC to KC Mo about 18 hours or more then another hour or so to our farm. with out any issues at all. speeding tickets in the mountains lol

im Sure the honda will hold its own if its "set up" Right..
Ive driven my gsr about 600 miles in one trip on a tired lsvtec, very tired lol. now with the new motor its mostly been in state and a couple 250 mile trips and never gave me a problem. The car is going to make a 1980 mile trip in april from CT to TX. Should be good to go IMO
Last year, I drove my car from CO to El Paso, then SoCal to Portland back to SoCal, to Florida, and up to VA---All in 3 weeks!
It sucked, but I managed 28MPG and my only issue was an axle clip allowed the passenger side axle to pop out a little, called ahead to a dealer and the part was waiting on me by the time I got there. It was more of a general maintenance thing more than anything.
I ran up 18lbs daily and was in boost daily on the trip. I cant say enough about Kaizenspeed being able to build a great H22 bottom end. I now run E85 and made 603whp, daily the car at 28-30lbs (boost-by-gear) and its 45k miles 3-4 years on the bottom end.

Oh yea, the US is huge if you're driving. Something like 2 days of constant driving to get from one side to the other.
Haha, i guess as long as its assembled decently, its all good
Makes sense i guess, and i heard that keeping out of the boost also gives you better gas mileage than a regular N/A set up?
Guess so, i'll make sure to use quality parts and take my time putting it together

I was thinking about a week non stop from say California to Florida. I tell you one thing and thats i CAN NOT get my head around the size of the place. If i ever won a load of money i'd get a US Visa and travel to every State including Alaska. The USA just has so much to offer, its unbelievable...
That's great news. I figured long trips would be no big deal because there are tons of factory turbo'd cars and they cruise just fine. Once mine's running I plan to daily drive the heck out of it.
i dont do anything differently with my car now that its boosted, still drive it all over, its the only car i drive in the summer, i switch my insurance back and forth from the teg to the beater so its cheaper.
I've taken my built/boosted GSR on a few 1000 mile trips without so much as a hiccup. The only trouble was consistently finding E85 along the way. Be sure to check the oil ...you should be fine.
