How hard/easy are you guys on your daily driven cars?
Obviously the harder you are on your car the faster wear and tear will occur and when you baby it, it could last a lifetime. But how do YOU treat your car? Some people have stock rides and drive the car like there's no tomorrow, but when investing so much $$$ into your car, you would think you'd take care of your car like if it was your child! Everybody has a different opinion, but the way I see it, I'm building my car to eventually blow up, then again, it's going to be used mainly for race use and maybe SOME, if any, daily driving here and there. For others, it could be your only way of transportation and keeping it up to par is a priority. So i guess what i'm trying to say here is how long has your car lasted through the ups and downs?

Re: (C-Zero)
Almost constantly beating on my car. Hard acceleration, hard braking...I drive it like it's a rental. It's put up with my driving for 100K now...15K boosted at 10psi.

Once the car is warm i almost always rev to at least 4k. I probably rev past 5k 10 times a day. Boosted for 4k at 6-10psi (drive at 8 and race at 10 usually, have boosted up to 12psi and revved to 7k). Keep warping the brake rotors, but the motor is running strong.

I usually drive mine like a sane person. Every now and then (maybe once or twice a day) I'll blow off first and spin through second just for the hell of it. I only really beat on my car at the track. Cars were made to be driven...if it breaks FIX IT!

Ditto... I've put 100k km's on my car since the swap, this is how I drive. Just take care of it, don't be stupid and it should last I drive 1.5 hrs a day to get to work + back and race on the weekends.

i can say i do actually beat on it pretty good, but i do mantain it
i love the BOV sounds, so i at least go to full boost and let go......
normally i speed drive up to around 5-6k..... and always pay redline a visit, at least once a day and thats easy when first gear is almost non existent
i at least gun it every other day up to around 100 mph.......then let go....
motor is bneing like this for 6600 miles,. and 3430 boosted miles out of those

Re: (USDM 4G VTEC)
been boosting for about 7k at 10psi on my GSR.
driving around town i never boost but once and awhile i do. the car barely ever sees redline unless i am racing, which is like a couple times a month.

the car gets driven pretty conservatively daily because it was untuned. but now that its tuned ive been getting on the throttle more and more. i take it up to the mountains for a spirited drive just to blow the cobwebs sometimes (bout 1ce every couple weeks)

Re: (91civicLX)
i would let it warm up without boosting, then id ****** floor it through 1,2, and maybe a little of 3rd, then id drive like a wus for a while. i have a bad tendancy to floor it up till like 5000 rpms until im just barely speeding, cause i dont feel like paying any stupid speeding tickets

I don't drive it everyday, but it's setup to be daily driven. I bought a second car during the build just due to all the downtime in the beginning. It's hard to not drive a built motor hard. That's what you built it for...

Re: (TwoK4drSi)
you guys can call me a wuss or whatever, but i just installed turbo on my b16, and it has never seen redline. the highest i've gotten was 7000 rpm. i check my compression every other week. i check my oil every morning.
car sees 4000 rpm, and thats about it. turbo has only been on for about 1500 miles. after my next oil change...and i get the car fine tuned....then we'll see. its my only ride for now. if it blows...i'm gonna see the bus alot more often.

When it was boosted, I beat it in the morning during the day and on the way home from work. Maybe thats why it was broken all the time?
