How many of you daily drive your boosted hondas?
I'm at a crossroads right now: buy better NA parts, or start buying boost parts. The thing is, my GS-R is my only car, and has to withstand the crap I throw at it (stop and go traffic, long distance driving, etc.). I sit in harsh traffic for about 20 miles both ways on trips to and from school right now. I also hit redline at least, and usually more than once a day. What I want to know is:
-What is your setup?
-What type of driving do you do?
-How long have you been driving on your setup?
-What are your driving habits?
And anything else that you deem useful. I'm extremely tempted to boost, but I don't got cash to be chasing something down that's not a feasible option. Thanks!
Oh yeah, I tried searching, but the search is all messed up right now.

I dont think that there is anythig wrong with turbo'ng a daily driver. I'm running the Greddy Kit (15g) at 7.5 psi and have no problems. I've had the set up for about 2yrs now and everythings good.. just make sure you maintain it!! Im not usually runing WOT but i bring up to red line a few times on average i shift at 4500rpm.
I do think that with your motor you should go all motor, a friend of mine has a N/A GSR and it sound really mean and its hella fast. I couldn't afford a swap and my single cam need more power so yah... but that just me putting in my two cents.

Re: (fjt)
driving turbo daily isnt a problem until you're boosting. You can stay in vacumm all day and its like driving with your stock motor. You boost all day you'll have problems soon.

My pal drives a greddy kit for about 1 year. He puts about 150 miles a day, Delivers pizza 7 days and goes to school.
He must hit redline about 20-25 times a day at least.
I cant speak for my kit yet, Ive only had it on for a couple weeks, but no leaks.

Daily drive no problem. I built it, I trust it. I just give it a tad more TLC than I used to, but on the flipside, I beat the **** out of it too

daily driver here, as well as one bad injector and broken #1 ringlands, new longblock $100 beat to ****, will beat it again once the new stocker goes in, t3/t4b 57trim at 15-16psi.
edit boost is too much fun, 9.5:1 build coming soon, na isn't nearly as much fun, even high compression, its nice, but im partial to boost

You will be fine alfy. Just have Dave tune your car really well. You can always turn the boost down for daily driving and turn it back up when racing.

I put a shitload of miles on my car, and it is turbo, and i beat it. . .I really don't care thou, because if I blow this motor, a new shorty is like $200, and I also have a built block waiting to go in.. . . .
I say turbo the current motor, and buy a spare block and start building that JIC. . .

98 LS turbo with drag kit, 24k miles on it over 2 years.
I drove 2 years pretty hard on my LS, but the motor's got bad compression now. It still drives fine and pulls hard, but it'll have to be replaced soon. LS motors are $500 used though, so it's not the end of the world if you blow it. When you're turbo and making substatial power, you'll realize you don't need to go to redline to go fast. Half throttle and shifting at 5-6k with my turbo LS is much faster than WOT and redline shifting on my stock LS.

-What is your setup?
Built B16 turbo 20+ PSI, 380WHP
-What type of driving do you do?
drive to work, take long trips, weekly trips to drag strip/autox/road course
-How long have you been driving on your setup?
Little over a year, another year before that with a JRSC
-What are your driving habits?
Like a bat out of hell

A ton of people daily drive them. It's awesome, even when you're not mashing on the throttle. You have torque even just 1/4 or 1/2 throttle, and on freeways you dont have to downshift to accelerate etc. etc.

Daily drive the S2000, even when the roads arent the greatest. Just make sure the parts and the install are top-notch, and proably the most important thing is TUNING TUNING TUNING!

Re: (Tinker219)
parts list is too long, but all you need to know is that it's a stock JDM B16 and as tinker mentioned TUNED with Hondata S200B by the one and only Boosted Hybrid, beat on regularly, even when it's snowy out since it's my only car. Been boosted almost a year coming up this summer
