i can buy this very small T3 turbo of an audi. it will work perfect for my turbo setup on my d16a6.

It is very clean on the outside and the shaft spins freely with no grabbing etc. ( yes the turbo still has oil in it) The shaft how ever has a bit of side to side play common with most used turbos.

Should i get this one? im paying about 20 US for it.


will this be fixed with a rebuild? and will this affect your boost much?

haha, to answer your question...alittle side to side play it ok, but if its up and down, meaning, the fins move towards the housing, then thats bad, very bad. Though, for 20$, you really can't go wrong, as rebuilding doesn't cost all that much.

 

I wouldn't care if it has bent fins or not; for $20, you can rebuild the thing to be friggin awesome; and still have a couple hundred left...

ok it has like movement were the fins move closer to the housing.... I bought the turbo. It has little to no side to side movment. spins really freely. does hit with the up down play. fins are all perfect. dual fins on intake side? whatever that means.


How much does a rebuild cost?

can i just throw it on now and rebuild in like 2 months?
