Default Opinion on this build!

Hey guys, been a long time lurker soaking up tons of knowledge on this forum but presently, I'm planning to purchase a 1998 Integra GS-R with a type R swap and just wanted some feedback/opinions on the build. I appreciate any sort of insight and I apologize If I posted in the wrong section.

I was told by the previous owner that the engine was fully rebuilt when it was installed in the summer of 2010. Then the top end was fully rebuilt when the cams where put in and that was the summer 2011. The previous owner is unaware how many kms are on the motor.

1998 Acura Integra GSR
Drive line:
B18C5 Type R engine installed.
engine was fully rebuilt with high compression pistons
JUN stage 3 cams
AEM ajustable cam gears
T1R header
T1R 63-s cat back exhaust
T1R Test pipe

Brakes and suspension:
T1R b-max coilover suspension with 32 way adjustable dampener, height adjustable, and adjustable spring rate
Type R front and rear sway bars
Hawk HP+ brake pads
slotted rotors
SS brake lines

Just an opinion. It's a modded gsr with a c5 swap that's built. I don't see the advantage of building a c5 over a c1 other than bling. The c5 already costs twice as much or more and I'm just going to assume that he wants quite a bit for the car seeing as he already spent a pretty dime to set it up. What's the asking price? If it's close to the price of an ITR then I would advise to buy a stock ITR or stock gsr or a k swapped dc/eg. That's just what I'd do though.

Thanks for all the advice. This is my first time buying a vehicle with a swapped motor. (noob I know)

The seller is asking $6100

Ive been looking for clean ITR in vancouver for the longest time without any luck. They're either rebuilt/damaged or 15k +

Use a high level input converter (sven2?) if you amp doesn't have one.

There are instructions in the packaging, good luck

$6100 for a JUN3 built with a bunch of good tastes aftermarket parts? Now, that's a good buy. Just make sure the valvetrain and the bottom end are also proferely built to accomodate the JUN3 power. This is a mirror image of what I was going to do before I picked up the JRS. GL

Thanks for the heads up bro!

I was just afraid to jump into uncharted territory without any input.

I am planning to get the vehicle fully inspected just for peace of mind but the seller seems honest about everything. The fact that he doesn't know the amount of mileage on the swapped motor does bother me though.

I think the guy posted in my thread instead of making a new thread.

No worries, free bump for me

^- you're talking about the black 98 gsr on the islands?

My buddy sold it last year, the time he had it (2-3 years), he babied it.

All the parts were either purchased or installed from AJ Racing.. It's not a bad deal considering there's a C5 motor in a fairly clean shell.

I don't think you'll have any problems with Aircare too as it was a lower mainland car for most of it's life..

good luck, get that inspection done first if you're real interested!

Yeah! Josh ?

Was your friend Allan from AJR?

There are two type R swaps being sold from the island. One is fully stripped and basically a track car and there's the one I'm planning to purchase with leather, a/c etc.

The owner told me the previous owner worked at AJ racing and built everything from there.

I will definitely get a full inspecrion done prior, any shops on the island you know of that are capable?

Reliability is my biggest worry so as long as it doesn't leave me visiting the shop every couple days, ill be satisfied!

Thanks for the heads up.

If it's a general inspection you're looking for.. I'd bring it to a Honda dealer since they'll hopefully give you an unbiased review of the entire car..

previous owner was Justin, don't think he worked for AJ but you never know haha.

Haha jeez, it sounds like the cars been around the block.

The seller said the type r swap was done in 2010 and rebuilt in 2011 so who knows.
